When the owners of a residential lifestyle block found their pond had become completely overtaken by organic muck and weeds, they called on GRABIT to make the difficult clean-up simple.

About the project

Completely overtaken by weeds, there was no water visible at the pond on our client’s property. Clearing the site presented a significant challenge – due to the sheer size and volume of the weeds, they job would have been physically impossible to do by hand.

Solution:

Grab Trucks are fitted with a crane and clamshell grab system that can reach 10 metres.  In this case, this enabled us to position the truck near the pond, in order to grab and clear a large area before having to reposition.

The waste material was loaded directly into the truck, transported well away from the pond and tipped on the property.  The large volume capacity meant truck movement on the site was minimised.

Using a Grab Truck was the ideal solution for this extremely difficult job.  No other machinery was needed and with no manpower required, the job was performed safely and efficiently.

The owner was delighted that we recreated their pond, and that they could once again see the water and the return of waterfowl.
