When Electrix, a leading a leading provider of electrical engineering, construction and maintenance services, needed an alternative approach to waste management, they called on GRABIT to provide a more efficient and cost-effective solution.

About the job:

The job involved removing large pallet packing from their yard. Previously, staff had to dismantle the pallets by hand before placing them into skip bins.  An extremely time-consuming and labour-intensive job, it also meant bins were going to the tip half full due to inefficient loading. There was also the added issue of having skip bins on site, taking up valuable space.

Solution:

A GRABIT grab truck and operator picked up the large pallets and placed them directly into the truck, where they were broken up and compacted to ensure the maximum volume could be removed.

Grab trucks hold up to 30 cubic of waste, three times more than a standard six-wheeler truck. The greater volume capacity meant the entire load was dealt with in one trip. 

Grab trucks are ideally suited to removing large amounts of waste, and are a convenient low-cost alternative compared to other waste removal methods.
